Bike to Work Breakfast for Cyclists (Downtown)
Tuesday May 12, 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation celebrates Bike to Work Week and Bike Month with their annual Bike to Work Breakfast for cyclists. The event will be held at Pioneer Courthouse Square — Portland’s Living Room. Bagels, donuts, coffee, and tea will be served to hungry cyclists as a thank you for contributing to the health and livability of Portland. Bike Gallery’s ace mechanics will be on hand to pump up tires, lube chains, and perform minor bike adjustments.
Portland Farmer’s Market’s Bike to Market (Downtown)
Every Saturday in May with big celebration on May 30
To Celebrate Bike Month and to encourage more market goers to shop by bike, Portland Farmer’s Market and will hold various bike-themed activities and classes each Saturday at their PSU market location. They will host various bike professionals doing inspections, showing shoppers bike-friendly routes, building a market basket, and making a market-ready bike. On May 30th they are organizing a Bike to Market day from several neighborhoods and will have a raffle with prizes, refreshments and activities for kids.
Bike to Work Day Party (Lloyd District)
Friday, May 15, 7:30 a.m – 9:00 a.m.
Lloyd District employees and residents are invited to a Bike to Work Party at Oregon Square, at NE Holladay between NE 7th and 9th Aves. This year’s featured speaker is Joe Kurmaskie, “The Metal Cowboy.” A performer and cyclist, Joe is the author of three books about his penchant for pedaling. Free snacks, chair massages, bike checkups and more! Bring a new rider, and receive a $3 City Coffee gift card.
